so I'm planning to make a small scale ethereum mining rig. budget is about £1000. all I need is gpu's and a power supply. I have a friend willing to sell me a hx1000 psu for £85, and i've bought 6 pcie risers for £35. i've found someone selling a 7990 for £200, and someone on ebay selling 2 7970s for £200, as well as someone selling 2 r9 290s for £300. any fellow miners here? what do you guys think card-wise. i know it's gonna be a huge power hog and i'll definitely need another psu

I wouldn't consider any card less than 4GB now. 3GB card's will only be good for the next 6 month if I remember right.

Just dont expect to make much money from this rig. Your electricity bill is gonna go up massively with all those cards and A huge etherium bust is going to happen sooner than later. As long as youre going into this not expecting to make much money then it seems like a decent setup
