How big of a jump is it from 720p60hz to 1440p165hz?

Big. But some will depend on the screen size as well. For instance, when I upgraded from 1080p to 1440p, it looked about the same crispness, but larger screen size (20" to 27") and more desktop real estate. But when I had previously gone from 720p (17") to 1080p (20") the difference was amazing.
