Think my R9 290 is finally shitting the bed. Getting straight-up freezing and rebooting, BSOD errors, kernel power issues. What's the best card for the money right now? I play at 1440p, 144hz monitor. It's freesync but I'm not partial to AMD, mostly because who the hell knows when Vega will actually launch. I have a 1050 Ti I can toss in it for now, but what are your opinions? It seems that cryptomining's driven the price so high for a 1070, that a 1080 is almost a better deal.

1080/ti or 1070. Probably 1080/ti for 144hz

but 1070's are like nearly the price of a 1080 now. I don't care what card it is as long as I can push 1440p at 144hz.

Thanks for everyone's help, think I'm going to wait till the 30th when they announce the Vegas to see what's up, I'm sure Nvidia will see some more price drops regardless after that. For now I'll just lower my settings and live with a 1050 Ti :|
