, but its theatrical run will only be the start of the film's financial success. It's also going to eventually come to Blu-ray/DVD, and on the disc will be deleted scenes and a blooper reel, among other things. Director Rian Johnson and editor Bob Ducsay have now revealed some of the deleted scenes that we'll get to see--and some sound pretty exciting and thrilling.

, Johnson said that almost all of the deleted scenes will be on the home video release, totalling around 20 minutes of extra footage. The Last Jedi is already the longest Star Wars movie ever, running 2 hours and 32 minutes.

One of the deleted scenes centers on Finn (John Boyega), Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), and DJ (Benicio Del Toro) as they sneak onto Snoke's ship. "There's a whole extended sequence where Finn and Rose and DJ sneak through the Mega Destroyer when they're kind of, after they sneak in with DJ and they're trying to find the tracker. There's a whole extended sequence. It's a full sequence of like stuff with them sneaking through this big office area of the Mega Destroyer and then having to fake out these Stormtroopers."

Editor Bob Duscay said this scene was removed early on because it "didn't support" the direction of the movie and made things too lopsided. "But it's good stuff. It's really good stuff. I assume when you'll see it, you'll enjoy it because I mean, we all did. It was cut early, and how you always know is like my staff, there’s a decent number of assistants and collaborators that work in the cutting room, and they were all complaining when we cut the sequence. And that's how you know that it was something that people like."

Another scene will involve an encounter between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke (Harm Hamill) on that rocky island where Luke is hiding out. There was a "massive sequence" that they shot that is another trial or test that Luke puts Rey through. After this, they have a "big emotional scene," Johnson said. "I mean, it's big stuff; it's like actual real scenes." Part of this sequence involved those nun-like caretakers on the island.

"That's actually one of the biggest things that was taken out of the movie," he said.
