So I ended up getting The Division for free from a friend. Is it any good? I have never see anything on it.

A lot of people will bitch about it.
I have put about 500 hours into it, and I've taken about a 4month break. I used to play pretty regularly.

It had its issues on launch, however, the devs have worked hard over its lifespan and added a decent amount of content and improved whats there.
It can definitely be a bit grindy, however the fun is in building your perfect gear loadout.

Very good game if you play with friends otherwise it's getting boring very quick
