So confused, me and friend game share, he pays for gold, I bought the game. He has gold and can get online and every time I click join ark it tells me to buy gold, have the changed it so only the person who has gold can access online even when gamesharing?

His account would have to be signed in on your Xbox so you can access his gold account with your account

If he is sharing with you you need to go in and make your Xbox the home Xbox. This will allow you to play all games he has and use his gold. I do this with one of my friends

Like rick said but you have to make your Xbox the home Xbox under his account. Then log out of his and back into yours

He probably let someone else game share so it removed your Xbox as home

Also you can only share so many time before you can't anymore.

Xbox gold live is attached to 1.the assigned "Home" xbox of the person that purchased live (anyone who logs into this box has live access), and 2. the profile of the person who purchased live (only if that profile is logged in can you get live access).
