PS4's Yakuza 6 Release Date Delayed, Demo Coming Soon

will be able to try it out fairly soon, but the full experience will now require a longer wait. Sega has announced a delay for the upcoming PS4 title, but a demo is on the way in just a few weeks that will allow players to transfer their save to the full game.

, it will now launch in North America and Europe on April 17. "This was a tough business decision we didn't make lightly," the message reads in part.

Alongside the delay, Sega announced that a demo will launch on February 27. Exactly what it will consist of was not shared, but it did say that it will "allow players to bring their save into the game on release." It also teased it has "many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series."

Yakuza 6 originally released in Japan in December 2016. Games in the series have traditionally taken a somewhat long time to come to western markets; even with the delay, this will be a much faster turnaround than what we saw with
