4gb of video ram is barely enough. VR is rendering 2 screens, your monitor at whatever hz your screen is which is usually 60, and the headset screen which is at 90hz. The 6 gb version would be a good alternative

Ive used an i5-7400 with a 1060 3gb for vr and it worked fine, its not the best quality, you can definitely go with something better but you would be able to use vr
