I have 8 gigs on my desktop... is was fine a few years ago, but a minimum i 12 now... i can feel that one the games and rendering times, since my new laptop has 16 gigs
Matthew, most editing suites are going to be fairly RAM-intensive. If you're doing some serious graphics editing, video editing or just running a bunch of programs at once, then no, 32GB is not overkill...
I have a threadripper, 2 gtx 1080 ti founders edition, 128 Gb of ram and it's RGB with a 1tb SSD, corsair anniversary edition case and it all cost me less than 7k, it's not even overkill
