I kinda like that it only shows where you need to see. All the rock looks weird. Was that how it was on DS/3DS?

Honestly I really hope someone doesn't try and debate that switch couldn't handle the graphics of cave story. It really just comes down to what the target audience would prefer. Nintendo Fans would rather have a nicer clean more polished looking game not a screen full of the same stale pattern.

Looks better rather than the repetitive texture usage like the original. They seem to have tried their best to add a bit of depth with the background as well.
