Also check out PC Gamer's hardware guides, they usually recommend a pentium d-something over anything else for gaming + cheap, although that changes sometimes. Heck for $200 you can get a i5-8400, which they say is great, and they have motherboard+cpu bundles for i5-8400s on newegg for about $300.
