You'll get a few extra frames from intel if it's purely for gaming go with them

If you're likely to do multitasking or require more cores in future go ryzen

Ryzen will be awesome for gaming (i use the 1600) but Intel will just best it in single core performance

Personally Id go ryzen, because the difference isn't massive and it gives you options later - but if youre sure its just gaming intel is probably for you

But honestly, people will passionately argue one way or the other but either way you'll have an awesome PC and its not going to make a world of difference

Don't buy gtx 1060 with 7700k/1700, instead buy 1070/1070ti/1080(whatever fits in your budget) with ryzen 1600.
Extra fps offered by a 7700k isnt of much use if you don't have a decent gpu

Or get a 1070 with i5 8600k

I'd personally go Ryzen because you can overclock. Save yourself some money and get the Ryzen 5 1600, same overall performance as the 1700. Or go with the 8600k if that's an option.
