What's the easiest while safest and most guaranteed way to install Windows XP if you don't have a key?

I know how to do the actual installing part, but later on it'll give me crap about activating and it's really annoying. This is a big reason I've stayed away from Windows XP but I recently got two matching computers for me and my girlfriend and I have too many Windows 2000 computers so I figure eh what the hell.

What do you use to not need to activate/trick activation?

I've even tried a key on a CD slip I have and it didn't work.

my online activation key doesn't work anymore.. too many uses i suppose. i had to call it in last time. but that was years go.. not sure if the XP phone activation is still a thing..

i just install windows xp black edition. it has most of the drivers needed and lots of fixes for issues
