i would recommend finding a cheap used computer and puttibg a ton of storage in it. basically any cpu will work for a NAS.

atom maybe, the thing is you have to bare in mind power consumption since it will be on 27/7

I endup just putting usb drive into the back of router my router mounts it as a File/DNLA share
