The nintendo switch targets game save data to the system for games downloaded to an sd card. My sd card was corrupted the other day and i was worried about the games i was half finished with. With a new sd card i re-downloaded everything and all save data current.

Right, we knew that. What sucks about that is if your Switch is lost or gets bricked, you aren't getting those saves back.
