So Blizzard is desperately trying to fight dive meta but they're not gonna succeed because they insist on not even slightly nerfing the dive heroes.

Dive meta makes use of tank heroes like dps heroes, maximizing damage output. There is no better strategy possible right now, it's the most benefitable, 4 of the team members putting the main pressure against the enemy team instead of 2 and they can instantly jump to backlines. As a result, mobility becomes the most important thing and most heroes lose their viability.

Blizzard insists on trying to invent counters (Zarya Graviton Surge buff, Release of Moira, Mei Freeze buff, Sombra Hack buff, Release of Brigitte etc.) but none of these are going to stop the dive meta. I think we all know that the only way is to slightly nerf the dive heroes.

Stop talking about nerfs. Cuz the second people start getting nerfed everything goes to shit. No one needs a nerf. This is how overwatch designed the game with only a limited amount of heroes and nerfing on thing over another doesn’t fix dive comps when half the games are literally about diving an objective to win.

Dive being the strongest now is a misconception. Ppl run it because it's still decent and a safety cushion considering everyone has alot of practice with it. BUT to say Dive is still dominant is false.

As for the hero that enables Dive, it's DVA hands down.

Dive is strong because of map design and gameplay objectives. The ability to contest high ground is often essential, and running a composition designed to end fights quickly without extended setup time enables your team to finish the map with more time. The tradeoff for the greater efficiency of dive is the demand for better team coordination and positional awareness than is necessary with slower compositions.

Blizzard's best bet to "fight dive meta" would be by redesigning the maps to make high ground less relevant or more universally accessible.
