Okay so i have a 1080 G1 gaming, I5 8400, 16 GB ram etc.. will i be able to game at 2560 x 1440p on ultra? And is a 144hz monitor worth it or should i stick to 60hz?

Yes, you will be able to. Personally, I don't spoil myself with such things. You will have people that tell you to get the 144hz, and those that will say it doesn't matter. I say save your money if you don't have a problem gaming on a 60hz monitor, and put that extra money towards a future upgrade,. like an i7-8700k or something.

2 to 2.5k rez is a small performance loss get a 120 hz mon with v sync and urgetting a brand new experience

I have sli 980s 2hich is fairly comparable to a 1080 in ali supported games. I play on a 1440p g sync 144hz monitorm go 144 and 1440p. Shoot for an ips panel unless youre just absolutley cs:go pro

yup, i play on 1440p with an 8600k + 1070. monitor is 60hz tho but if i turn of vsync i see some good fps on high / ultra.
