I wouldnt cheap out on the motherboard.. the psu, i have cx650m and it works perfectly so far..

I would personally make a high end gaming rig, and then VM a linux or win 7 instance and use that VM as my programming rig. That is what I currently do. No sense if you also game to have 2 separate computers.
