Just an interesting thought. I'd imagine intel's upcoming CPUs (unannounced) most likely will be delayed due to the Meltdown vulnerability that remains on a hardware level. Hell, Spectre may delay most CPU manufacturer's pipeline (Including AMD, ARM, etc...) schedules since they both retain a fundamental flaw within the current industry standard CPU architecture. If that's the case, what will a re-designed architecture that mitigates both vulnerabilities look like? Will we have a decreased level of performance due to speculative systems being so engrained in CPUs globally that will have to be modified?

What do you guys think?
