Im typically an intel fan, but x299 is a joke and intels 16core baseclock being only 2.5ghz is laughable. We need that shit at least a ghz higher. Never know, they may still clock to 4.2ghz or higher and then Intel will wipe the floor with threadripper, as threadrippers 12 core cinebench barely comes ahead of intels 10 core....so a 4.2ghz oced intel 16core will stomp a 4ghz oced threadripper for sure. Time will tell whether either intel or amds new hedt cpus overclock well..but one thing for sure is youll save a shit tonne of money by going the amd route.
