i thought i would ask what advantages does reinhardt have over orisa? and what do people here think about double shield and their synergy? obviously rein is better close up but i feel Orisa is just more versatile and can in general do more, just my opinion though

In my opinion, Rein is better for moving payloads, while Orisa is better for holding points. She's fairly stationary since she can't move with her shield.

You can get more overall value out of Rien. His ult is generally better because it's more widely applicable and can be used to make plays, his hammer is good for light CC and brawling on the point, and the nature of his shield is a lot more versatile than Orisa

I feel Orisa has way better consistent pressure on the enemy team with her gun with some CC abilities and a stationary Shield (all good for camping)

But you give a good rein a window of opportunity and he will capitalize by devastating the enemy team.

i play both extensively, (Reinhardt is my one true-love, golden hammer/axe + probably over 50 hours on him + about 20+ hours on Orisa), Reinhardt is more mobile and does more close-range damage, he's great on attack for 2cp and escort/payload maps because you can initiate attacks with him.

Orisa is more situational and better use on control point depending on the team comps. She also has the advantage of being able to walk away from her shield and i feel like over time her shield takes more damage then Reinhardt because of lower cool-down and bigger barrier (it recently got buffed). Orisa also has the functionality of being a long-range tank so if you have no long-range DPS she is very useful + she can take out Pharahs.

In a 1v1 battle a good Orisa should always counter Reinhardt though. just bait out his charge, Fortify and shoot his head.

Honestly Rein is better on payload maps bc he can just sit on the payload or move round it. Orisa is better on control points bc she can put her shield up in strategic places and bottleneck. I overall prefer Orisa but she can be hard to position on payload maps bc obviously you need to be constantly moving and her shield has a cooldown.

Rein isn't cancer like Orisa and at low ELO a pocketed Rein is a god, while Orisa is a great Riptire target

He has his uses. I've seen nasty plays from Rein. Personally I almost always prefer Orisa, but I never complain about a good Rein!
