I just noticed that the switch, and some games, can tell which color of joy-con you are using. Suddently the desire to get all the joy-cons has been quadrupled and the value of the custom shells has dropped like a rock.

You can program the joycon color that the switch reads

Yeah there is a way to program a variety of colors to a joycon.
