I have question that I need answered. I have a copy of Alan Wake on Steam that is currently installed on my current system but I'm getting ready to switch to my new system. So with that game having been removed from Steam but still in my library can I re-download it or do I have to back it up and restore it to my new system?

Of course you can, unless you clicked the option not to allow re-downloading on other device.

You can copy games from the steam folder and just paste them into the new steam folder. steam/steamapps/common I think they're under.

If it's in your library you should be able to access it on your new system. For example, I've got the regular version of skyrim which doesn't show up on the store any more, yet I can still download it if I want.
