Make sure your motherboard can take it first and also that you have enough cooling and a large enough power source

You could try Craigslist. CPU is the only PC part I would ever buy second hand if I had to.

You’d be better with the manufacturers guarantee/warranty imo. Just make sure you buy the right i5 for your motherboard

Thank you to everyone for your advice! Especially Danny Rijks and Karl Weinger. I have learned more through this thread than any of my other posts elsewhere. I know what more specifically to look for, I know what my next bottleneck(s) will be, and have a whole new way of thinking towards my pc and what i want it do/ where to go.
