Hoping someone can help me out here. Got a Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 motherboard. I have one of the RGB headers running the system RGB's carefully calculated to keep them under the 2A max load. The board drives 5050 RGB strips just fine. Does anyone know if I could use the second RGB header to link to an RGB powered amplifier to connect to the desk/room 5050 strips? From what I can see the draw on the input side of the amplifiers is about 1w for signal only. Which means the motherboard will be well under its 2A max load. I am thinking the amplifier will just match the rgb signal from the motherboard without drawing power from it. I can then have all the RGB's in the room matched and controlled by the motherboard/gigabyte software? Anyone got any experience of similar?
