hey guys i have a question, I can reach a new season high but not without losing or dropping to where i began if not lower should i be mad? My friend tells me that its progress but i don't see progress if i always drop in the end to where i began

You can't get better unless you try. Ultimately, this game is about having fun. So as long as you are enjoying yourself don't stress about rating. It just stresses too many people out. There will always be somebody better and worse than you playing.
