Got a question about my husband's pc. The computer was running fine before and the graphics card went bad, so we bought a new one. It still won't show an image. The tower itself turns on, you can hear the fans everything, but nothing comes up on the monitor. Anyone have any ideas of how we could fix it?

SOLVED: He needed a new motherboard

I'd check the power supply if a graphics card didn't fix it. Also , have you verified the monitor didn't just go bad ?

Check bios to make sure pci is used before onboard gpu.
To check when its on. Try plugging a monitor into your vertical video outputs on the mobo.

Did you try turning it off and back on again?

no such thing as a dumb question. did you make sure the video cable is good, by using a different one?

It's probably the mobo in this case. Most likely it got damaged somehow.

I'm guessing you either plugged it into onboard. Or your bios may have reverted to onboard as priority. That or your pci-e crapped out.

Your new graphics card may require a more powerful supply therefore your power supply may not be big enough to run everything..

Run integrated graphics and update the gpu driver.
