it won't make the console hotter really, but if you use tempered glass protection screen, you don't need that.

I have a screen protector and I put a microfiber cloth at the back of the Switch to keep it protected from scratches.

I use a screen protector as well as strips of fabric on the inside of the dock

i just use a bandanna but even without it, i dont have any scratches problem on my switch screen. u'll be fine with just a screen protector unless you tend to be rough with ur switch

i just use a screen protector. i figure if that gets scratched ill just put another one on. no problems so far.

The Switch isn't going to overheat so long as air can escape out of the exhaust vent.
