Considering how common high refresh rate monitors will be in the coming year
I would advise against a laptop
Because competetive gaming requires 144/240Hz display

Alienware? I think the cheapest one though is $1500.

Although I can think of a few reasons why you would like to buy a laptop in that case I would recommend Acer Predator Helios 300

I got an MSI Apache GE72 for about $850 and it's been good to me for about a year. Runs pretty much everything at 60fps high. If that's not good enough you want a desktop.

Omen by HP. It’s a little over 1,000 but it’s worth it imo.

Honestly, i would highly recommend a desktop. I have a gaming laptop and as much as I love it, its nowhere near the power and bargain of a desktop. The only reason I chose to have a laptop instead is because im in school and I travel between 2 states often so its hard to bring a desktop back and forth

honestly building a desktop is usually better but im looking at some of the suggestions here and they seem to be a way better value when looking and the cost of pc hardware now
