optane is too much like the party trick that sshdds are... way too much effort and money for too little return, better off with a small m2 ssd, or a ram cache if you dont shut your pc down often.

As far as I know, optane memory modules are for hdd’s but let’s be honest, who the fukk is running an i7 7700k with an hdd as a main drive. I don’t have a m.2 yet. I’m using a 1tb ssd. I know there is really no huge performance bump on ssd’s with this module. But for 80 bucks for a 32gb module, is not that bad. If I’m going m.2, then i’d Probably get the 1tb one. Those tend to get pricey.

Optane memory is going to be a short lived money grab from intel, and will no longer be relevant soon as flash memory prices are dropping rapidly. M.2 drives are lightning fast and tiny, and flash memory in general is phasing out HDD's. So you won't see optane around for long imo

Optane doesn't do anything with sdds. It will. With hdds it will increase performance
