A technical question,I got a Amd 7870 gfx card from someone, I installed it but it just shows a black screen, card gets power fans spin but no image, both 6 pins connected, using 850 watt psu, any ideas?

I tried dvi no go, when I realised it didnt work I took it to a technician friend of mine, tested hdmi, no go, I honestly didnt test the hdmi myself though

Stupid question but is the display cable plugged into the gpu or mobo

Yep on gpu, when I switch to mobo it works, but it does not pick up in device managed though forgot to mention that

Try installing the driver in windows, when done, turn off and connect and see if it runs.
