Nah not really, your 7700k will hold up just fine.

There's absolutely no NEED to upgrade.
It's not gonna do anything but help though.

I would say yes. My 8700k is faster, cooler, and alot more stable and multitasking friendly than my 7700k.

Even does alot better in games like assassin's Creed origin which consistently maxes out the 7700k. Now I only use about 57% usage.
