Either an i7 3770, or change to a z77 board to allow overclocking and possibly then get a 3770k

Another 8gb of ram

Boot ssd

get a p68 p67 z68 z78 mobo for chip and ovecklock that bitch and 2666mhz memory if you are just gaming and some light work on your pc you dont need to upgrade unless you wan own a 1080ti it will be a botelneck but it's fine with 1070 or you can plug a 2600k but your mobo isn't suited to be performent with that cpu you can't oc with ivy bridge is a great oc platform

couple months ago i would say GPU and or another 8gb of ram, but the cost of those are both stupid. with a budget of 300-400$ save another couple hundred and gpu prices should fall. if the price hasnt gone down, upgrade to current gen cpu mobo and ram.

Try and get a board you can overclock on, P67, Z68, Z77. Maybe a 3770k and some decent cooling. Then you're good to go
