I always see it as a highway.1 lane, 2 lanes, 3 lanes, 4 lanes.The more lanes, the better traffic handling.64 is 1 ,128 is 2 and 512 is 4 lanes.If my thinking is incorrect then correct me if i'm wrong
If horribly oversimplified
It says how much data throughput a gpu can handle and for the most part anything beyond 128 bits is practically useless because the main bottleneck here is the GPU itself
