This might be a stupid question but does anyone know what the season passes is for ??

Is it like a thing that lets you download mods? or play on the new map they are making that's underground?

Season pass is for the future dlcs so you won't have to purchase them like we did scorched earth. You buy the season pass you get all the maps.

Basically any paid content, no matter its individual cost, you get for free with your pass. Think of a wristband at a fair or carnivore, instead of paying each ride's price you pay a premium up front and get access to all of them.
