Stumbled across a triceratops egg how do you Hatch the egg I put it over my campfire but that incubating process won’t start

You need multiple camp fires or standing torches
Does it say it's a fertilised egg? If so you can hatch them, if it's just says trike egg then you can't hatch them I'm afraid.
It takes 5 standing torches to hatch a trike egg on the island, not sure how many it'll be on other maps

I ALMOST did this . Luckily I was in a party w Jeffrey and he told me you can't hatch those. Good for kibble tho
