Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but if I own a hard copy of a game (BOTW) and then download the digital version, does my save file get preserved or overwritten? I can see the value of hard copies of games (save on storage space, eventually play on multiple switches), but I don't like that my daughter and I have to keep changing cartridges when the players change. I am afraid cartridges are going to get lost. Thanks.

Saves aren't stored on the cartridge. It's saved on the system. You just need to create two users on the system, one for you and one for your daughter.
