So for a new mobo do i need to update bios for m.2ssd asus max rog hero x know how to just dont want to fuck it up i know bios settings have to be changed or should i pay to get it done .

It's pretty easy to update bios. Can't really mess anything up.

I could be wrong but I think Asus has software that you install after you install os that automatically updates bios for you. I know my gigabyte boards do.

Updating bios is a good idea but why are you concerned about doing it strictly for m.2?
