So a quick question does arms vendor max out at 265? Because it said 265 faction reward and I got a 270 pistol from it.

yes and no
they cap at 265 if u lucky they can drop with legend mod to make it 270 mods are a little hard to learn watch a vid in youtube they explain it better lol

now when u keep leveling they will too but they will be 10 light below your max

It will be maxed out until you pass 270 light total. You need to get powerful gear to raise your light from now, and exotics will be above 265

So now that I'm 265 I should do all my blue quests right and start trading in my faction stuff?

mmmm i wouldnt do blue quest just yet but faction stuff yes that wont change anything in your light :3

Yeah do blue crown missions. I was 265, my Mida dropped at 279
