currently looking to upgrade to an i7 8700K but im paranoid about liquid cooling due to leakage etc.

Air cooler recommendations?

I dont find Noctua ugly at all. The problem with their unique colour is that no case can accomodate a brown colouring... looks off but not odd in anyway. im actually planning to get their new DH cooler to try.

Hyper evo still. But your the first I know that scared of leaks. Just buy a pre sealed then, done.

If you have the space, just grab an NH-D15. The big air coolers outperform 280mm and smaller AIOs anyways.

Don’t be paranoid of water cooling. Just get good quality fittings and lines and leak test and you’ll be okay! I did my first watercool build and I was super paranoid but that went away.

You can just get a prebuilt cooler, which will not leak as it's heavily sealed. You do not need a reservoir if you only plan to only cool a CPU....
