Official is more for ppl with lots of time on their hands. Unofficial is more for ppl with less time.

They boost server to do things faster in my opignions if its to much booster ruins game

Unofficial servers are often run by people who are more passionate about ARK than Wildcard admins.

It's a lot easier to get help, or fix an issue on an unofficial server as the admin is usually playing too.

You will occasionally run into the random shitty admin who doesn't help or just is generally shitty. This happens.

Be prepared to.be wiped many times find a server you like n just keep building some alphas will even ally if they see that your not gonna ditch the server the first time you get wiped also depends on how quick you can get defenses up it is an evolved dino political world with a 100% death rate eventually everything dies in ark lol
