7700k is more than enough if you're just gaming, if you're editing video than go for the extra ghz

What are you looking to do?

Stream and game at the same time?
Editing 4K videos?
Very big into adobe photoshop?
Solidworks and cad?
Then you will benefit from a 8700k’s more cores.

Or are you looking for a pleasant gaming experience?
Small picture video editing. Nothing massive
The 7700k is more than enough.

Contrary to most people’s belief lol just because a better i7 came out doesn’t mean the 7700k is a bad processor. The stigma of the 7700k not being good enough is ridiculous. It’s a monster of a cpu regardless

If you 're building a new system: Yes, no matter what, is way more future proof

If you r upgrading from the 7700k: Maybe, it depends on what you want to do with it

1800x is only £270 if you need that extra multi tasking room and near identical gaming power.
