Yeah there are many ‘lite’ distros. Puppy comes to mind, it’ll install on 128mb. You’ll probably have to burn it to a cd rom as I don’t think you’ll be able to boot to usb.

Zorin i have found works awsome. Needs 256mb ram to run and use version 10. Newer need 512mb system memory for install.
Older Ubuntu, debian , Solaris all work ok aswell.

Lubuntu will get you a nice light mainstream Ubuntu core system. If you are using a P3, then you will have to use an older version, but a P4 should even let you use current versions.

Oh man... takes me back. I remember running Slackware on old Pentiums back in college....
