Kind of overkill tbh. Like if you just want to run the latest games on max a GTX1070 will be fine, even in a laptop. Desktops are always preferable to a laptop, buuuuut travel considerations are a bitch (which I why I have a laptop now) and it's kinda hard to put a desktop in a desk and lock it away securely

no, but if i was going for an eGPU, i would use an alienware one as my laptop happens to be one and has a specific port at the back
