I went from 2 970s to a 1080Ti and even that was a huge difference, so I definitely recommend upgrading when you can find something decently priced.

I just picked up a 970 Strix because my ancient ati card died, I can now play all games great again. I don't see a need unless you're doing some 4k stuff

the 970 is still considered a great card. I have one in one of my rigs that is worth more now then it was when I bought it cause of crypto miners haha. Might sell it soon just because of this, but otherwise its an amazing card still.

I'm still using my r9 390 I want to upgrade as well but I'll just have to wait on the cryptocurrency fad to go away and I believe I will be greatly rewarded. Once these people with 20 1080tis have no use for them the market will be flooded with choices.

970 is still good for 1080p.

970 still as good as the 1060s and 480s, especially when overclocked. The 1060s don't beat them by enough to tell the difference anyways. You still have a good high-ultra 1080p card!

That's true, my brother has a 1060 and we have very similar performance
