J JJ Risk Guest Oct 2, 2017 #8 the i5 has next to no actual adv over the R5 in gaming, even at 1080p, but you get the advantage of more cores and better socket support. 7600k/1151 is a dead socket. there is no reason to go i5 in 2017.
