Some people says it helps lag. I generally do it for rp purpose.

Cause anything the server has to render and load causes stress on the server.

Some people like immerison. Also it does lag hard when a ton on people are on the server fighting stuff. That's what the training dummy is for us it

Damage numbers create lag.

Not to mention if you’re on a pvp server with damage numbers on, if some random dino attacks you while you’re trying to be stealthy you just handed them your position....
