That is just how he is, the times I've missed someone standing still is endless. Nothing beats punching somebody and you know you hit them but instead of them slamming into the wall like he was originally able to do their slack off and take barely half damage

Wait for your Mercy to get some bone hurting juice and then apply it to the Fist.

Other than that, if the character you hit goes flying towards a wall, a 45º angle will define wether it smashes or slides.
