Hi guys, i need to replace my son's i5. Im looking at ryzen 3 1300x. It will be paired with his 1060. Any bad reviews on this cpu? Thanks

If you're looking to go ryzen the Ryzen 2 chips are just around the corner for release so I would wait on that. The 1300X is a good chip, I use it myself paired with a 750Ti and it made a world of difference in my games. Then again I was coming off an old Phenom II X6 chip. The 1300X is a great chip but I would recommend waiting for Ryzen 2.

Instead of the 1300x go 1200 its cheaper OC the same and same specs

You don't need a better cpu just for gaming. waste of money. for the price of ram, MB and CPU you won't notice too much performance difference.
