Can you screenshot your graphics settings ? You may be using supersampling.
Its alright to have a messy FPS in Orgrimmas or Stormwind but not outside.

Wow is CPU dependent, but no way that cpu is bottlenecking, I have a fx and a 750ti and I get the same results.

Can't go much higher than setting 7 or causes to much lag.. game isn't optimised for any higher nor will the single core of your cpu handle the load

I have a 4790 and 1080ti with 1440p. I turn distance, ground clutter, and environmental detail to 7, which greatly improves fps vs them being on 8-10. Also have multisampling I believe turned all the way down. The rest on ultra. The game optimization kinda sucks. But try that and see if it helps.
